Global warming changes boundaries
Just when you thought you had heard of everything that is the result of global warming, along comes Uganda getting bigger at the expense of neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo. The Semliki River, which flows from Lake Edward to Lake Albert, marks the traditional boundary between the two nations but the melting of glaciers on the Rwenzori has quite changed the river’s course. Some 50 square kilometres has changed nationality with the two governments now working out a new way of determining which bits of country are in which country.
